Sperm and azoospermia tests

A second opinion service - Free of charge

We offer a second opinion service where you can send us your hormone test results, sperm test results and other results. We offers our opinion based on our longstanding experience in this field on the phone. It will not be a face-to-face medical consultation.

Why you may wish to do this test?

The male factor is half the equation, but it is often neglected. When test results are poor, male patients are often ignored, and IVF or any other form of assisted conception is suggested. Men are often treated as sperm banks: Once sperm is extracted, men tend to be forgotten.

So you want to have children?

In the dash for babies, health reasons for poor sperm parameters can be overlooked. We believe they should be addressed, not only for the sake of improving sperm quantity and quality, but also to improve men’s overall health. It is simply not good enough to take sperm at face value when our track record shows sperm parameters improve in the majority of cases.

Semen analysis (sperm test)

This is the first-line test we offer. Our comprehensive semen analysis tests all parameters recommended by the World Health Organisation, including sperm count, motility, morphology, vitality and anti-sperm antibodies.

This comprehensive semen analysis is the first that doctors will ask for if you:

  • Over 35 and have tried for over a year

If you have already done a semen test and found you have issues, you may wish to check out our treatment page.

Azoospermia or very low sperm count

Men with azoospermia or very low sperm count may be also be diagnosed with testicular failure. Testicular failure occurs when the communication between the brain and testicles breaks down. The result is the testicles are unable to perform the functions of sperm production properly, leading to azoospermia or very low sperm production. The test that is often used to make the diagnosis of testicular failure consists of the following:

  • Prolactin
  • Free Androgen Index
  • SHBG
